PricewaterhouseCoopers Channel Islands has announced that four staff across its Channel Islands offices have been promoted to Senior Manager level whilst a further eleven have been made Managers, in its latest round of annual promotions.

The staff have all been promoted in recognition of the continued effort they have put into the firm’s structured development programmes and the significant contribution they have made to the firm’s business areas.

In Jersey, Chris van den Berg and Rebecca Brewer have been made Senior Managers. Chris specialises in regulatory compliance and joined the firm in 2008 from a firm in South Africa. Chris is a keen cricketer and is actively involved with St Lawrence Church. Rebecca concentrates predominantly on private equity and in particular on fund of funds, supports graduate recruitment for the Assurance business and is an internal training tutor for the firm. She will be transferring to the Middle Eastern firm to further her private equity experience.

In Guernsey, the new Senior Managers are Avril Keenan and David Waldron. With seven years experience in the provision of audit and advisory services, Avril’s primary focus is in alternative investment funds. She joined PwC having qualified as an accountant in 2003 and in 2007 carried out a secondment with PwC Sydney. David joined the tax team in Guernsey in 2009 from PwC Dublin and has built on his experience with the Irish firm to focus on investment management with particular emphasis on private equity and real estate. Recently, David has helped clients work through the wider implications of the UK reporting fund regime.

In addition, PwC has promoted seven of its Jersey staff to Manager level. They are, within the Assurance business, Destiny Selorm Yao Attatsitsey, who joined the firm from Ghana in 2004 and who focuses on private equity, trusts, real estate, banking and holding structures; Aiveen Doran-O’Reilly, who specialises in real estate and private equity work and who joined the Jersey office in 2009 from PwC Dublin; Ian Tait, who specialises in banking, real estate, private equity, trust and specialist structuring work and who joined PwC as a graduate in 2005; Toby Venables, who specialises in private equity and who joined PwC in 2005 after a post-University Gap Year; and Owen Woolgar, who specialises in private equity and banking and who moved to the Jersey office from Birmingham in 2004. In addition, Nicola Le Riche, who moved to PwC in 2002 having previously worked in the public sector, becomes a Finance Manager within the Operations Team, and Lisa Porter, who joined PwC in 2001 after working in the hospitality sector, becomes a Client Service Manager.

Four staff in the Guernsey office have also been rewarded with Managerial promotions. They are Sam Arlotte, who joined the office in 2004 and works mainly in insurance as well as some funds and internal audit work; Lyndall Grewar, who started working at PwC in 2009 after moving to Guernsey from Johannesburg in South Africa; Sarmad Naim, who focuses predominantly on funds and real estate, and who joined the firm in 2008 from another firm in Pakistan; and James Read, who joined the firm in 2004 from university and who specialises in real estate funds, as well as fund of hedge funds and private equity.

Steve Le Page, Senior Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers Channel Islands, said:

‘Once again it’s really great to see members of the PricewaterhouseCoopers team in the Channel Islands excelling in their roles. I am very pleased we can continue to recognise and reward the abilities, achievements and future potential of our people with opportunities for career advancement. As we continue to support our clients through present and future market challenges, it’s important that our teams’ capabilities continue to be strengthened by rising talent.’
